NFL Draft preview: NFC East
The 2025 NFL Draft is fast approaching so we will continue our previews of each division and every team’s needs and wish lists. We will now shift to the NFC and begin with the NFC East.
This division delivered all kinds of chaos this past season:
- Washington made a stunning run to the NFC Championship behind rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.
- The Cowboys imploded as Dak Prescott went down.
- Philly got revenge and took home a ring in their Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City.
- And the Giants… well, they were the Giants.
With four teams in very different roster cycles, there’s not a ton of overlap in draft needs — but there are big decisions coming, especially at the top of the board.
New York Giants
Top Needs: QB, CB, DL, OL, RB
The Giants feel like a rudderless ship. Their front office is on the hot seat, their quarterback room got a little better with the signing of Russell Wilson but still has plenty of concerns, and they just watched former franchise player Saquon Barkley help a division rival win the Super Bowl.
So yeah — it’s bleak.
If Brian Daboll wants to keep his job, the Giants need to make an impact move in this draft. That could mean rolling the dice on a QB at No. 3 (Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward?), or just going BPA and praying they can patch together a competitive team with Wilson at QB this year. Corner and pass rusher are also glaring holes, and their starting RT (Jermaine Eluemunor) wasn’t exactly a wall in Vegas last year.
If one of the top two QBs is off the board, don’t be shocked if Travis Hunter is the pick at 3.
Top 100 Targets:
#3: CB/WR Travis Hunter (Colorado), QB Cam Ward (Miami), QB Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)
#34: QB Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), CB Maxwell Hairston (Kentucky), OT Aireontae Ersery (Minnesota)
#65: DL TJ Sanders (South Carolina), OL Tate Ratledge (Georgia), RB Kaleb Johnson (Iowa)
Dallas Cowboys
Top Needs: RB, WR, DL, EDGE, OL
The Cowboys are in a weird spot: expensive roster, disappointing results. Dak hasn’t lived up to the contract (injuries haven’t helped), CeeDee Lamb might want out, and Micah Parsons seems more focused on his TikTok than terrorizing quarterbacks.
Their biggest issues? Skill position depth and trench strength.
- The WR room is thin behind Lamb.
- Zeke is finished, Tony Pollard is gone, and they’re now relying on Javonte Williams, who looked like a shell of himself last year in Denver.
They need to hit on picks — and probably won’t use 12th overall on an offensive lineman, even if they should.
Top 100 Targets:
#12: RB Ashton Jeanty (Boise State), WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona), OL Armand Membou (Missouri)
#44: DL Darius Alexander (Toledo), EDGE Landon Jackson (Arkansas), RB TreVeyon Henderson (Ohio State)
#76: WR Jaylen Noels (Utah State), DL Joshua Farmer (Florida State), WR Jack Bech (TCU)
Washington Commanders
Top Needs: EDGE, CB, OL, TE, S
In year one under new ownership and head coach Dan Quinn, Washington overachieved big time — led by Jayden Daniels, who looks like a future star.
To take the next step, they’ll need to land a difference-maker at EDGE and find a true CB1 opposite Marshon Lattimore. Former first-rounder Emmanuel Forbes has already flamed out, and the safety room took a hit with Jeremy Chinn’s departure.
They’ll also want to keep building around Daniels, starting with interior OL help and a young tight end who can eventually take over for Zach Ertz (who’s somehow still logging real snaps).
Top 100 Targets:
#29: S Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina), EDGE James Pearce Jr. (Tennessee), EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College)
#61: OL Jonah Savaiinaea (Arizona), TE Elijah Arroyo (Miami), RB Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State)
Philadelphia Eagles
Top Needs: EDGE, DL, LB, OL, S
What do you give the team that just won it all? Reinforcements.
The Eagles are feeling the usual post-title attrition — Josh Sweat is gone, Brandon Graham retired, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded. Add in some aging depth on the O-line and linebacker concerns, and Howie Roseman has a few roster fires to manage.
The biggest priority is edge rush — and they’ll need to get younger in the trenches across the board. Adding LB depth and replacing CJGJ at strong safety wouldn’t hurt either.
They’ve nailed recent drafts. Let’s see if they can reload and make another run.
Top 100 Targets:
#32: EDGE Nic Scourton (Texas A&M), OL Grey Zabel (NDSU), DL Derrick Harmon (Oregon)
#64: S Xavier Watts (Notre Dame), LB Carson Schwesinger (UCLA), OL Jonah Savaiinaea (Arizona)
#96: TE Gunnar Helm (Texas), S Andrew Mukuba (Texas), OL Ozzy Trapilo (Boston College)
