NFL Conference Championship Predictions, Odds, and Analysis

At the start of each NFL season, there are 256 possible Super Bowl matchups. As we arrive at Conference Championship Weekend, that number has been reduced to just four. The AFC and NFC’s final contenders now clash for a trip to Santa Clara and a chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy. Before the action kicks off on Sunday, here’s a breakdown of the remaining teams, complete with odds, analysis, and score predictions.

Patriots at Broncos

Sunday, Jan. 25 | 3:00 p.m. | Line: Patriots -5.5

New England’s defense carried the load in its 28-16 Divisional Round win over Houston. A relentless effort from the secondary forced C.J. Stroud into four interceptions as part of a five-turnover performance. The Patriots’ front seven was equally dominant, holding the Texans to just 48 rushing yards.

While Drake Maye threw three touchdown passes, the offense showed some vulnerability. Maye was sacked five times and committed three turnovers of his own. Protecting him against Denver’s lethal pass rush will be critical. Quick throws and a consistent ground game will be necessary to neutralize the pressure.

Despite advancing to the AFC Championship, murmurs about New England’s favorable schedule persist. Regardless, one thing is clear. Patriots football is back.

Denver’s victory over Buffalo ended Josh Allen’s season in dramatic fashion, but it came at a steep cost. Bo Nix fractured his ankle on one of the game’s final plays and will miss the remainder of the postseason.

That injury thrusts Jarrett Stidham into his first start of the season, fittingly against the franchise that drafted him in 2019. Denver struggled to establish the run against Buffalo, a team that ranked near the bottom of the league in run defense during the regular season. That concern is magnified this week against a far more disciplined Patriots front seven.

Vic Fangio’s defense has been the Broncos’ identity all season, and another masterclass may be required to keep their run alive.

Prediction: Broncos 23, Patriots 19

The same factor leading many to count Denver out could offer a slight edge. With no meaningful tape on Stidham, New England may face some early uncertainty. If Denver’s pass rush can disrupt Maye and the offense does just enough, the Broncos could sneak out another upset.

Rams at Seahawks

Sunday, Jan. 25 | 6:30 p.m. | Line: Seahawks -2.5

Los Angeles avenged last season’s snow-filled Divisional Round loss with a gritty 20-17 overtime win over Chicago. Matthew Stafford and the Rams are now one win away from his second Super Bowl appearance in five seasons with the franchise.

Offensive production was limited by the conditions, but the Rams found a way to win despite being outgained across the stat sheet. The defense rose to the occasion, creating turnovers and sealing the game in overtime when Caleb Williams was intercepted for the third time.

Playoff experience continues to serve Los Angeles well. Sean McVay’s adaptability and composure in high-leverage moments have once again placed the Rams on the doorstep of the Super Bowl.

Seattle’s demolition of San Francisco was even more lopsided than expected. The Seahawks seized control immediately when Rashid Shaheed returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and never looked back in a 41-6 rout.

The defense consistently gave the offense favorable field position, forcing three turnovers and stopping the 49ers on fourth down three times. Sam Darnold was efficient but rarely needed, finishing with just 124 passing yards.

Seattle’s rushing attack has been a season-long strength, but against the Rams’ vulnerable secondary, the game may hinge on the play of Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp.

Prediction: Seahawks 34, Rams 33

After two instant classics during the regular season, these teams meet for a third time with everything on the line. Home-field advantage will matter, and the Seattle crowd should be a significant factor. A win would send the Seahawks to the Super Bowl and make Sam Darnold the first quarterback from the 2018 draft class to reach the game’s biggest stage.
